Household consumption has now
returned to a higher level than before the COVID pandemic,
retail group Confcommercio said Tuesday.
This year's household spending - estimates the Confcommercio
studies office - driven above all by tourism (+23.6%) will
return "to normal" exceeding (at 21.083 euro) the pre-Covid
level of 2019 (20,814 euro).
However, warns president Carlo Sangalli, the economy "is slowing
down and some knots are still unresolved.
Indeed, missing from
the roll call are a plan to relaunch the South, the full
implementation of reforms and investments of the National
Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) and a deep fiscal reform in
a short timeframe'.
Still in 2024, instead, it will come close but will not reach
the levels of the pre-crisis peak of 2007 (21,365 versus
21,569).
