Ferrari is set to continue on the path towards electrification and is preparing to enter the world of sailing, Chairman John Elkann said Wednesday as he opened the general meeting of the shareholders of the Italian luxury sports carmaker in Amsterdam.
"The F80 represents a further step forward in our electrification journey that we will further explore this year with the presentation of our electric Ferrari," Elkann said referring to a new limited-edition model powered by a plug-in-hybrid powertrain.
    "Stay tuned.
"As we continue to execute on our business plan, we remain confident in our future.
"We look forward to another important chapter in our history, which will be filled with more exciting, memorable moments".
Elkann, who is also the chairman of Stellantis, said the decision to venture into the nautical sphere was inspired by Ferrari's founder.
"Enzo Ferrari was always looking for a new challenge, just like we are today," he said.
"We are preparing to enter the world of sailing.
"The quest for maximum performance at sea will offer us new opportunities for innovation in terms of technology, performance and sustainability, and we are confident that our knowledge will inspire our future racing and sports cars".
