Institute (Institut Pasteur), a non-profit private research
foundation engaged in the study of prevention and treatment of
diseases, is named after French chemist and microbiologist Louis
Pasteur (1822-1895), who discovered the principles of
vaccination, microbial fermentation and pasteurization. In 2022,
the institute will mark the bicentenary of the 'life and work of
Louis Pasteur, the man and the scientist'.
