Bourse regulator CONSOB on
Wednesday told ANSA it is "talking with all those involved"
following a breakdown in talks on Tuesday between Banca Monte
Paschi di Siena (MPS) and former industry minister Corrado
Passera over the alternative proposal presented by the banker to
rescue the troubled lender. MPS is being rescued after failing a
European stress test because of its high amount of
non-performing loans (NPLs).
