Inter are the only Italian team to
have directly qualified for the Champions League last 16 after
they beat Monaco 3-0 at San Siro on Wednesday thanks to a
hat-trick by Argentina forward Lautaro Martinez.
Simone Inzaghi's men finished the league stage of the
competition in fourth place with 19 points, comfortably in the
last eight to book a direct ticket to the next round.
Atalanta, AC Milan and Juventus, meanwhile, will have to try to
reach the last 16 via the playoffs.
Europa League champions Atalanta finished ninth after drawing
2-2 at Barcelona, Milan lost 2-1 at Dinamo Zagreb and ended up
13th, while Juve came 20th following a 2-0 home defeat to
Benfica.
Bologna, who already knew they had no chance of progressing
before their final league game, drew 1-1 at Sporting Lisbon and
finished in 28th place.
