Italy's public debt dropped to
2,965.7 billion euros in December after reaching a record high
of 3,005.2 billion in November, the Bank of Italy said on
Friday.
The central bank said the decrease was driven by a fall in the
Treasury's liquid assets.
Although the national debt was down with respect to November it
was up by 97.3 billion euros with respect to December 2023.
