The United States is set to give a
"decisive impulse" for peace efforts in the Middle East, Premier
Giorgia Meloni said after an Italo-Greek intergovernmental
summit in Rome Monday.
On the Middle East, she said, "we continue to work for the end
of hostilities, access for humanitarian aid to Gaza, supporting
the work that the Arab countries are carrying out to outline a
regional framework of peace and security that in our opinion
must also include the perspective of the two States.
"In this framework I believe that the mission in the region that
President Trump is about to undertake is also very important. I
think that a decisive impulse could come from the United
States", said Meloni in statements to the press together with
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, at the end of the
Italy-Greece intergovernmental summit.
