Banco BPM proposed to rocker
Vasco Rossi that he should buy diamonds involved in a case of
alleged fraud, sources said Wednesday.
The rock star paid with three bank transfers on 20 July 2009,
22 March 2010 and 14 October 2011, respectively to the tune of
1.043 million euros, 520,000 euros, and just over a million, the
sources said.
The jewels were bought via the IDB company, the sources said.
Prosecutors on Tuesday seized over 700 million euros in a
preventive seizure allegedly involving five banks including
Banco BPM.
The other banks are Italy's biggest by market capitalisation
UniCredit, its biggest by assets Intesa Sanpaolo, Tuscan lender
and the world's oldest bank Monte dei Paschi di Siena, and the
small Banca Aletti.
