The Sanremo Song Festival drew a TV
audience of some 13.6 million and registered a share of 70.8% on
its fourth night Friday, devoted to a contest with covers of
hits.
Giorgia and Annalisa won the contest with a cover of the Adele
smash Skyfall.
Comic, actor and director Roberto Benigni opened the show by
taking the stage by storm with a characteristic madcap flurry of
riffs on Elon Musk, Donald Trump and Giorgia as well as words of
affection for President Sergio Mattarella, who has drawn Kremlin
ire for apparently comparing Russia's invasion of Ukraine to
Germany's of Poland.
