Yesterday, the Italian ambassador to Madrid, Giuseppe Buccino Grimaldi, together with the CEO of FS International and Trenitalia, Luigi Corradi, the chief international officer of FS International, Francesco De Leo, and the CEO of Iryo, Simone Gorini, inaugurated the new offices of Iryo's Madrid headquarters, which house 250 of the company's total 640 employees.
In his greeting to Iryo's management and staff, the ambassador, after emphasising the local appreciation for the beauty and functionality of Iryo's trains, complimented the high level of attention and attention to detail that the company dedicates to the wellbeing of its passengers and the successes that the company has enjoyed since its entry into the Spanish high-speed rail market.
The FS International managers confirmed that the experience in Spain has become best practice within the Ferrovie dello Stato group (Iryo's majority shareholder), and that it could represent an example in the expansion plan towards other countries that the group is currently drawing up.
In little more than two years, through three corridors, Catalonia, Levante and Andalusia, and a fleet of 20 trains, Iryo has transported more than 15 million people, introducing competition to the Spanish high-speed sector.
