The Fundación Princesas del Siglo21, which brings together female protagonists from one of the most dynamic areas of the Dominican Republic, held the first meeting of the 'Student Diplomatic Conferences' programme, dedicated to the orientation of high school seniors. The event was held in Santiago de los Caballeros, the country's second largest city, with the Italian Ambassador to the Dominican Republic, Stefano Queirolo Palmas, as keynote speaker. The event was held in the aula magna of the Palacio de la Gubernaciòn Civil, in the Cathedral Square.
The Ambassador shared with a large audience his own professional experiences - as a career diplomat with 40 years of service and 7 destinations in 5 continents under his belt - as well as describing the diplomatic training path and the opportunities it offers, inspiring the young people present to pursue an international career.
The meeting, attended by over one hundred students and numerous local dignitaries, in the presence of the Civil Governor of the Province of Santiago, Rosa Maria Santos Mèndez, represented an uncommon opportunity for cultural and motivational exchange for the country's future generation of professionals, but also an opportunity to recall the importance of Italian-Dominican relations and their significant impact on the prosperity of the Caribbean country.
