The Italian Embassy in Sarajevo hosted a meeting between the Director of the Srebrenica memorial, which commemorates the genocide in which over 8,000 people were killed, Emir Suljagic, and Simonetta Della Seta, President of the Working Group on Memorials and Museums of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance(Ihra), an intergovernmental body working to spread correct knowledge of the Shoah. In the presence of the Italian Ambassador, Sarah Eti Castellani, the meeting emphasised that "protecting memorials is crucial to help future generations understand the facts".
