Conjugal visits in Italian prisons
will be two hours long and take place in a room with a bed and
hygienic facilities whose door cannot be locked from the inside,
penitentiary system chief Lina Di Domenico said in instructions
sent to wardens Friday.
The number of such visits will be the same as currently granted
for face-to-face visits each month, she said.
The room will be checked before and after the visits, which will
be surveilled by suitably equipped staff, said Di Domenico.
