Alberto Stasi has always shown
suffering for Chiara Poggi, the girlfriend he was convicted of
murdering in 2007, judges said Friday in granting hime day
release.
Former Bocconi economics student Stasi, now 41, was 24 when he
murdered his 26-year-old economics graduate girlfriend Poggi in
August 2007 at Garlasco near Pavia.
Stasi in prison in Bollate for more than 10 years has had "a
behavior in line with the acceptance of the definitive sentence"
of 16 years of imprisonment for the murder of Chiara Poggi, for
which he has always denied any responsibility, and "has always
shown empathy and suffering towards" the victim, the
Surveillance Court of Milan wrote in the provision with which it
granted Stasi the benefit of semi-liberty.
