Turnout to pay respects to late Pope
Francis lying in state in St Peter's has been higher than
expected and the viewing Wednesday may be extended beyond
midnight, the Vatican said.
"In consideration of the high turnout of faithful who wish to
pay homage to the Holy Father, the possibility of extending the
opening of the Vatican Basilica beyond the established time of
midnight is not excluded", the Vatican press office said.
