Italian prisons administration DAP
said Thursday it was open to granting permission to prisoners to
attend Pope Francis's funeral at St Peter's on Saturday.
The DAP has given its full availability, if the conditions are
met, to grant special immediate permission to prisoners to
attend Pope Francis' funeral on Saturday in St. Peter's,
officials said.
Therefore, only after the positive opinion of the surveillance
court will the prison administration be able to evaluate the
granting of the immediate permission.
According to what has been learned, in some penitentiary
institutions the possibility for prisoners to follow the funeral
live on TV in common rooms will also be evaluated.
