Direct flights from Doha's Hamad International Airport to Venice's Marco Polo operated by Qatar Airways resume today. A route suspended from the Covid period that from today joins the three already scheduled daily flights to Rome Fiumicino and Milan Malpensa respectively, testifying to the increasingly close ties between Italy and Qatar.
The inauguration ceremony of the flight - reads a note - was attended by the Italian Ambassador to Qatar Paolo Toschi. "This route illustrates how the increasingly close ties between Italy and Qatar in the political, economic and cultural fields create a growing demand for connections between our territories," said the ambassador. "The choice of the city of Venice as the third Italian airport served by Qatar Airways is part of a path of cooperation in the cultural field, as demonstrated by the recent agreement between Qatar Museum and the city of Venice, signed by Sheikh Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani and Mayor Luigi Brugnaro, whom I thank for their attention to the relationship between the two countries. The fact that the Biennale Arte, in which Qatar is participating with its own exhibition, is taking place in these very months reminds us of the city's attractiveness and Doha's desire to develop its collaboration with an area rich in culture and opportunities'.
