A conference on 'Challenges of archaeological research between AI and new technologies: Italian excellence' was organised in Barcelona by the Italian Consulate General together with the Italian Institute of Culture and the Museum of Archaeology of Catalonia. The meeting took place on the occasion of the 'Made in Italy and Italian Research in the World Days' and on the eve of the inauguration of the exhibition 'Sardenya l'illa megalitica', which, until 2 November, offers the opportunity to enhance the Sardinian cultural heritage and promote scientific cooperation between Italy and Spain. The president of the Monte Prama Foundation presented the experience of enhancing the Sardinian archaeological site of Mont'e Prama; Alessandra Patera, physicist and researcher at Sincrotone Alba explained advanced imaging techniques applied to ancient artefacts. Riccardo Auci, CEO of Visiva Lab, shared innovative projects for digitising and monitoring archaeological heritage.
