A Catholic parish nursery school
teacher in northern Italy was sacked Tuesday due to her activity
on self-produced porn site OnlyFans, local dailies said
Wednesday.
Elena Maraga, a 29-year-old nursery teacher and body builder,
was suspended without pay by her school near Treviso in Veneto
last month after she refused to come off the platform and trade
unions had so far fought off moves to fire her.
Some parents had also been sympathetic saying her off-duty
interests had nothing to do with her teaching.
But the reasons given by the institute were unequivocal,
indicating the termination of the contract, after five years of
permanent teaching, "for just cause with immediate effect" as
the management of the profile on the adult platform "contrasts
with the Catholic inspiration that guides the educational
direction of the school".
The decision was in the air and was also accelerated by the
young woman's statements "to the press by participating in
television programs" in which she declared that she did not feel
embarrassed and felt free to show off her body. Statements that,
according to the school, have "irreparably damaged the element
of trust: we cannot continue the employment relationship".
The teacher has not yet decided whether or not she will
challenge the institute's resolution, limiting herself to saying
that "an injustice has been committed against me".
