The Albanian government will block TikTok access throughout the country for at least a year, beginning in the first weeks of 2025.
Prime Minister Edi Rama announced today a move against the social media platform that, he claims, "is holding our children hostage," as part of a series of measures aimed at improving children's safety in schools.
The topic has resurfaced after a 14-year-old Tirana boy
was stabbed to death by a peer a few steps away from the
institute last month, following a social media argument.
