The Mediterranean area is a market that is made up of 535 million people, 7.1% of the world's population, a share that is destined to grow, according to a study by Ernst & Young (EY). The report said that by 2040 the population of the Mediterranean area should reach 750 million people, 8.3% of the world's total population.
On April 16 and 17 institutional representatives from 27 countries will unite with businesses, investors and experts in the sector at the EY Strategic Growth Forum, which will take place at the Hotel Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria in Rome, to discuss growth strategies for this market and Italy's role in it. There will be over 70 speakers at the event, including Italy's Minister for Constitutional Reforms Maria Elena Boschi, EY Italy CEO Donato Iacovone, and EY Global Vice Chair Maria Pinelli.
Other participants scheduled to attend the two-day conference include: José Manuel Barroso, Jacques Attali, Kjell Nordstrom, Confindustria President Giorgio Squinzi, Franco Bassanini, Michele Elia, Silvano Cassano, Pietro Salini, Carlo D'Asaro Biondo and Andrea Illy.
