Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said
Friday the Italian government is "concerned" about what is
happening in Gaza after the resumption of Israeli air strikes
against Hamas in which many more civilians have been killed.
On the latest developments in Gaza, he said, "we are very
concerned, we hope that they can return to dialogue, we hope
that the Israeli hostages can be freed, that all military action
against the civilian population ceases, even if the target is
Hamas.
"However, we are very concerned about what is happening, the
message that also came from the European Council is very clear:
let's return to dialogue and move from the first phase of the
ceasefire process to the second phase".
"We approve and support the reconstruction plan for Gaza
presented by the Arab countries", he added.
