The United States and the European
Union must now coordinate on sanctions against Russia, Foreign
Minister Antonio Tajani said after a meeting of the Quintet at
Antalya in Turkey on Thursday.
"We support the United States' effort to reach a ceasefire and
we are all in fact oriented towards imposing sanctions on
Russia", he said.
"We must coordinate our action because the more complicated the
Russian economic situation is, the less they can pay the
military who, I repeat, earn double what any Russian worker
earns", he added, specifying however that sanctions are not made
overnight. However, we must have the same objective".
