President Sergio Mattarella will
attend Saturday's Italian Open women's singles final at the
centre court of Rome's Foro Italico complex between Italy's
Jasmine Paolini and American Coco Gauff, Italian Tennis
Federatrion (FITP) President Angelo Binaghi said Friday.
Paolini is bidding to become the first Italian woman to win the
tournament since Raffaella Reggi in 1985.
The home fans also have high hopes of a winner in the men's
singles.
Italy's world number Jannik Sinner will face Tommy Paul in the
semi-finals later on Friday after demolishing Casper Ruud 6-0,
6-1 on Thursday while his compatriot Lorenzo Musetti will take
on Carlos Alcaraz.
