Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic
stated that he expects harsh reactions from the EU to his
decision to travel to Moscow to commemorate the 80th anniversary
of the victory over Nazism, but that he does not intend to
remain silent and will respond to such reactions in a serious
and responsible manner. Speaking to journalists in the Russian
capital, where he will attend a large military parade on Red
Square tomorrow and meet Presidents Vladimir Putin and Xi
Jinping, Vucic emphasised that he wanted to keep the promise he
made to Putin over the phone in recent months, and that any
negative consequences would be borne by him personally rather
than Serbia, which will continue on its path to EU integration.
